I am committed to empowering African women – Mrs. Ngozi Oyewole
As the President of Commonwealth Business Women Africa (CBW-Africa), I am excited to outline our aspirations and goals for the future as we continue to empower and advance women in business across the African continent.
Here are the key aspirations and strategies that CBW-Africa plans to pursue:
1. Economic Empowerment: Our primary goal is to enhance the economic empowerment of women entrepreneurs and business leaders within member countries. We aim to provide women with the resources, skills, and support needed to start and grow successful businesses, create employment opportunities, and contribute to sustainable economic growth.
2. Leadership Development: We aspire to nurture the next generation of women leaders in business and beyond. Through mentorship programs, leadership training, and networking opportunities, we aim to empower women to take on leadership roles, drive innovation, and make a positive impact in their organizations and communities.
3. Advocacy for Gender Equality: CBW-Africa is committed to advocating for gender equality, women’s rights, and inclusive business policies within member countries. We will continue to engage with stakeholders, policymakers, and partners to influence change, address barriers to women’s advancement, and create a more inclusive and equitable business environment.
4. Innovation and Technology Integration: We recognize the importance of innovation and technology in driving business growth and competitiveness. CBW-Africa plans to leverage digital tools, entrepreneurship programs, and innovation hubs to support women entrepreneurs in adopting new technologies, scaling their businesses, and staying ahead in a rapidly changing business landscape.
5. Sustainable Partnerships: We intend to strengthen and expand our partnerships with government agencies, corporate organizations, development partners, and civil society groups to amplify our impact and reach. By fostering sustainable collaborations, we aim to create synergies, share resources, and maximize opportunities for women entrepreneurs to thrive and succeed.
6. Knowledge Sharing and Capacity Building: CBW-Africa will continue to provide training, workshops, and capacity-building programs to enhance the skills, knowledge, and capabilities of women in business. By offering practical tools, mentorship opportunities, and networking platforms, we aim to equip women with the confidence and expertise to navigate challenges, seize opportunities, and drive success in their ventures.
7. Recognition and Visibility: We are committed to recognizing and celebrating the achievements, innovations, and leadership of women entrepreneurs within our network. Through awards, publications, and public platforms, we aim to raise visibility, inspire others, and promote a culture of excellence and empowerment among women in business.
In forging ahead, CBW-Africa is guided by a vision of a future where women in business are empowered, respected, and valued for their contributions to society and the economy. By staying true to our mission, values, and collaborative spirit, we are confident that we can continue to make a meaningful impact, inspire positive change, and create a more inclusive and prosperous future for all women across the African continent.
